Due to the havoc of Coronavirus, there is an atmosphere of shutdown in the country. In Telangana too, after 18 days of lockdown (Lockdown in Telangana), once again the lockdown has been extended for 10 days. However, some service areas have also been given some leeway during extended lockdowns. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Telangana government under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday, in which there was also discussion about extending the lockdown for a few more days.
The lockdown from May 12 to 30 was in force in the state, whose period was coming to an end today. The state government said that after 18 days of lockdown, there has been a slight decrease in the cases of corona infection. In view of this, in the cabinet meeting today, it was decided to extend the lockdown for 10 more days, as well as increase the exemption limit. Till now the exemption was given for 4 hours during lockdown from 6 am to 10 pm, whereas during the lockdown starting from tomorrow, 7 hours exemption has been given, which will be from 6 am to 1 pm.
Owaisi protested against the increase in lockdown
At the same time, the decision to increase the lockdown in Telangana has been opposed by AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. In a series of tweets, he targeted the Telangana government and said that the lockdown is ruining the lives of the poor. As the data shows that even before the lockdown came into force on May 12, cases of corona infection were decreasing, it is clear that the lockdown is not helpful in preventing the spread of corona.
