Coronavirus spreads rapidly in densely populated areas like Srinagar.
Coronavirus cases are increasing rapidly across the country. Positive cases are also on the rise in Jammu and Kashmir, while almost half of the cases coming out in the Kashmir Valley are being registered in Srinagar. Data from the Ministry of Health shows that 3,867 cases of corona have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir in the first week of April, of which 2,755 cases and about 48 percent (1,347) of these cases have been reported in Srinagar alone in the same period. .
Regarding this, President of the Doctors Association of Kashmir and Influenza Expert Dr. Nisar-ul-Hasan says that the virus spreads rapidly in densely populated areas like Srinagar, especially in such areas there is more crowd of negligent people. Here people are organizing meetings inside and outside the house, due to which the positive cases are seen in Srinagar.
He said that this virus spreads more than gathering crowds in closed places, even after this, indoor functions are being seen in many areas in Srinagar. Along with this, Hassan also said that tourism is also a reason for the spread of infection in Srinagar. On April 1, 461 new cases of corona infection were reported in Jammu and Kashmir and on April 7, the number of positive cases reached a high of 812.
Allowed to mobilize even after ‘Orange Zone’ has been declared
The number of corona infection cases in Srinagar has risen to 28,115 and 477 people have died, while the total number of cases in Jammu and Kashmir is 1,27,774 and so far 2018 patients have died from corona. In view of increasing cases of infection, Srinagar was declared an ‘orange zone’ on 30 March, but even then people were allowed to gather in public parks for festivals, starting on 3 April. The government’s decision to organize the ‘Tulip Festival’ was also heavily criticized, as it saw a large crowd of people.
Need to accelerate corona vaccination
Meanwhile, the Corona vaccine was given to 81,500 health workers and frontline workers and 2,26,000 people over 45 years of age in Srinagar on 7 April. Hasan said that in Jammu and Kashmir, with a population of 12.5 million, only 1,72,000 people have been vaccinated with the corona vaccine. Whereas last year our fight was also on the Corona vaccine and now 80 vaccination centers have been built in the district.
He said that to deal with coronavirus, we need to speed up the vaccination (Corona Vaccination) and at the same time it is necessary to start the vaccination of our young population, which is now being greatly affected by infection. He has appealed to the people to also visit the nearest center and help in this fight against the epidemic by getting a vaccine.
