A day before this, 267 new cases of corona infection were registered in the state. According to the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), according to the report on Tuesday, at present the number of active cases (patients undergoing treatment) in the state has increased to 3,388.
The matter of concern is that among the newly infected people, there are more than 61 children including one month old children. Out of the new positive cases, the highest number of cases (251) have been reported from Aizawl district, followed by Kolasib district with 21 and Lawangtalai district with 17. Rest of the cases of infection have been reported from Lunglei, Serchhip, Saitual, Siaha, Mamit and Khwajawal districts. An official said that five persons had traveled recently, the rest of the patients were found in the order of identification of the people who came in contact with the infected people.

So far 10,553 people have been cured of the infection in Mizoram. State Immunization Officer Dr. Laljavmi said that till Tuesday, 2,70,606 people have been given the first dose of corona vaccine, out of which 52,376 have received both the doses till Monday. Meanwhile, in the last 66 days, the lowest number of new cases have come across the country. The weekly positivity rate in the country has come down to 5.94 percent, while the number of active cases has gone up to 13.03 lakh, which is 4.85 percent of the total positive cases.

Of these, 86 percent people had been infected with COVID. And 62 percent of the people have had a problem of diabetes. So far 23.61 crore vaccine doses have been applied in the country.
