The official said that it is mandatory for all passengers arriving by plane to undergo Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) before entering the archipelago. With the recovery of 23 more people in the archipelago, the number of people recovering has increased to 6,935. At present 94 patients are undergoing treatment (active cases) in the Union Territory, out of which 90 are from South Andaman District and 4 from North and Middle Andaman District. He told that the Nicobar district of the archipelago is infection free, where there is no active case of corona so far.

The administration said that so far 3,92,095 samples related to corona have been tested and the infection rate is 1.82 percent. So far, 1,28,821 people have been given corona vaccine in this union territory with a total population of 4 lakh people, out of which 1,11,409 people have been given both doses of vaccine and 17,412 people. have gone. Meanwhile, Information, Publicity and Tourism Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration SK Singh said on Tuesday that the number of active cases has come down below 100 for the first time after the number of cases increased during the second wave.
Administration made arrangements for stranded passengers
He said that the administration has made arrangements for the stranded passengers in Little Andaman and on June 10, the MV Kalighat ship will leave for Hut-Bay. He said that RT-PCR test of passengers willing to travel will be done and only those whose report will come negative will be allowed to travel.
