In view of the shortage of doctors in Kovid-19 hospitals in Gujarat, all the MBBS graduates of the government contract have been asked to come on duty immediately. According to a notification issued on Monday by the state health commissioner Jai Prakash Shivhare, the state government will take action against those doctors who will fail to ‘come on compulsory Kovid-19 duty’ under the Pandemic Diseases Act.
According to the notification, in view of the increasing number of Kovid-19 patients, the number of beds in government hospitals has been increased. However, the order said, there is a huge shortage of manpower to treat Kovid-19 patients as compared to the basic infrastructure prepared by the state government.
Shivhare said, “In view of the increasing number of Kovid-19 patients in an unprecedented manner, the state government needs to immediately serve the doctors.” Appointed as a Medical Officer, they need to come on duty immediately. ”Shivhare has directed all the District Magistrates and Municipal Commissioners to take action against such doctors in their respective areas under the Epidemic Illness Act. Do not come on duty.
Corona figures in Gujarat
On Sunday, 14,296 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Gujarat, which is the highest number of people infected in a day since the epidemic started. The Health Department said that with this, the total number of people infected so far has increased to 4,96,033. In the last 24 hours in Gujarat, 157 people have died, which is the highest in a day. With this, the number of people who lost their lives in the state has increased to 6,328. On Sunday, 6,727 patients were discharged from hospital after recovering.
So far, 3,74,699 patients have been cured in Gujarat. At the same time, 1,15,006 patients are under treatment. The recovery rate of patients in the state is 75.54 percent. The maximum number of new patients and deaths occurred in Ahmedabad, where 5,864 people were confirmed infected while 29 people died. Meanwhile, 1,12,95,536 people have been vaccinated in Gujarat so far, out of which 19,32,370 have been given second dose.
