Corona virus infection becoming uncontrollable in Odisha, state government going to impose night curfew in 10 districts

The movement of all shops, business establishments, offices, institutes and individuals will be closed between 10 am and 5 pm, except for necessary activities in these districts.

Night Curfew

In view of the continuous increase in Covid-19 Infection, Odisha Government has decided to impose Night Curfew in 10 districts. These are the places where there is a rapid increase in cases of viral infections. The Special Relief Commissioner said in a notification that the night curfew will be in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri districts. The night curfew will be in force from April 5 from 10 am to 5 am. Except for the necessary activities in these districts, the movement of all shops, business establishments, offices, institutes and individuals will remain closed between 10 am and 5 pm.

After finding 452 more patients of corona virus in Odisha, the total number of cases reached 3,42,224 on Saturday. A health official said that 267 new cases have come from isolated centers while 185 patients were found while tracing the contacts of the infected. He said that the highest number of 77 cases have come in Khurda district, under which the capital Bhubaneswar falls. Since March 30, someone has died due to infection in the state, hence the death toll is constant at 1921.

Number of patients being treated in Odisha 2820

The number of patients undergoing treatment in Odisha is 2820 while 3,37,430 people have become free from infection. The official said that the state government is worried about getting more cases of corona virus from the districts bordering Chhattisgarh. 71 cases have been found in Nuapada district while 29 patients have been confirmed in Kalahandi district and 19 in Bargarh district.

‘More cases are getting in the districts bordering Chhattisgarh’

In Odisha, Minister of State for Home DS Mishra said that more number of cases are being received in the districts bordering Chhattisgarh as many people from these areas attended a mega cricket tournament in Raipur last month. He said that the district administration is keeping a close watch on the people going to Chhattisgarh. The state government on Friday has administered anti-kovid vaccine to 2.5 lakh people and has set a target of applying more than 50,000 vaccines in a day.
