In the last 24 hours, 96,982 new cases of corona were reported in the country. The total number of cases of infection increased to 1,26,86,049.
Regarding the growing coronavirus cases in the country, the Union Health Ministry says that people’s participation is important to control the second wave of epidemic in the next four weeks. The intensity of the Kovid-19 epidemic has increased in India. The epidemic is spreading faster than the last time. There are 10 worst affected districts of Kovid-19 in the country. Which includes seven from Maharashtra, one from Chhattisgarh and one from Karnataka and Delhi.
Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that many people have asked why not everyone should be vaccinated. Such immunization campaigns have two objectives, preventing deaths and protecting the healthcare system. Its purpose is not to give the vaccine to those who want it. Its purpose is to give to the needy people.
He said that we have suggested to the state governments to increase the RT-PCR test, which has been decreasing in Maharashtra in the last few weeks. Only 60 per cent of the total tests were conducted in Maharashtra through the RT-PCR method last week. We suggest the states to take it to 70 percent or above. About 58 percent of the country’s total cases are coming in Maharashtra. About 34 percent of the cases of death from Kovid are being recorded in Maharashtra.
4.5 percent deaths due to corona in Punjab
Rajesh Bhushan said that out of total Kovid cases in India, 92 per cent patients have recovered and 1.3 per cent have died. About 6 per cent are new covid cases. Chhattisgarh is a cause for concern for us. Despite being a small state, 6 percent of total Kovid-19 cases and 3 percent of total deaths in the country are being reported here. In the second wave of infection, the condition of Chhattisgarh has worsened.
He said that about 4.5 percent of deaths are due to corona in Punjab. Compared to Punjab, active cases and death rates are much lower in Delhi and Haryana. It is satisfactory that the share of RT-PCR tests in average daily testing has increased to 76 percent in Punjab. On Monday, 43 lakh doses of vaccine were applied in the country, due to which we have put 8 crore 31 lakh doses till Tuesday morning.
