Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Union Health Ministry said that the central government has so far provided more than 24,65,44,060 doses of vaccine to the states through the facility of free and direct purchase from the state governments. The ministry said that more than 1.19 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccine are still available with the states and union territories, which are yet to be used.
The Health Ministry said that as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign, the central government is supporting the states and union territories by providing them the COVID vaccine free of cost. Apart from this, the central government is also facilitating direct purchase of the vaccine. Immunization is an integral part of the overall strategy the central government has put in place to manage and contain the pandemic, including test, track, treat and covid practices.
According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health, out of 24 crore doses, 23,47,43,489 doses have been consumed, including perishable doses. States and Union Territories still have more than 1,19, 46,925 doses to be deployed.

There has been a total decline of 97,907 in the cases under treatment in the last 24 hours. The national rate of recovery of patients is 94.29 percent. The number of people who became infection free was more than the new cases of infection for the 26th consecutive day. So far, a total of 2,73,41,462 people have become infection free in the country. At the same time, the death rate from COVID-19 is 1.21 percent. So far, a total of 23,61,98,726 people have received anti-Covid-19 vaccines in the country.
