The third phase of corona vaccination is going on in the country, in which patients over 18 years of age are being given vaccine doses. In the country, India Biotech and Serum Institute are producing covaxine and coviciled by Corona. Due to lack of vaccine supply, now about 10 states have entered the global market and have issued tenders, these states include Delhi, Mumbai and UP.
However, it is unlikely that the vaccine will be available at the right time in the global market as well. Bharat Biotech and Serum Institute has 16 million doses of central government orders, so much dose can be supplied to the states. In such a situation, 10 to 15 percent of the vaccine doses are available to the states.
Not much difference in circumstances
Talking about the global market, there is not much difference in the situation there either. Hindustan According to the report by Dr. KS Reddy, Chairman of the Public Health Foundation, that vaccine doses are limited even in the global market, so it is not possible to get the vaccine supply at the right time. Sputnik V has received approval from the Government of India and it is being procured. In such a situation, it is expected that some of its supplies will be available to the states. Chinese companies may have their vaccine stock in the global market, but it is not approved in India. AstraZeneca may have stock, as many countries have stopped using it. Pfizer and Moderna are engaged in the supply of vaccine to many other countries, in such a situation it is difficult to meet them at the right time.
How much vaccine does the country need
While states are in the process of putting up global tenders for foreign companies for the availability of vaccines, the central government is also talking to foreign companies. These companies have been called in India and asked for production. According to the data of April, about 20 lakh doses were applied every day. If this speed is to be maintained, then every month we will need about 60 million vaccine doses. After the addition of 18 plus vaccination, about 15 crore vaccine doses should be supplied every month. 93 million doses were produced in the international market till 20 April, out of which about 20 crore vaccine doses were made in India only.
