According to the data shared by the Ministry of Health, 63,04,33,142 first doses of vaccine and 22,50,45,137 second doses have been given under vaccination in India.
The Union Health Ministry said on Saturday that the ongoing nationwide vaccination campaign to protect against COVID-19 (N.ationwide Vaccination Campaign) Under this, 62 lakh doses of vaccine were given on Saturday, taking which till now the number of doses given in the country has crossed 85 crores. The ministry said that till 7 pm on Saturday, 62,42,122 doses of the vaccine were given, including 85,54,78,279 doses so far in the country.

Nationwide vaccination campaign was started from 16 January
The ministry said that vaccination is a weapon to protect the country’s most vulnerable population from COVID-19 and it is being regularly reviewed and monitored at a high level. The nationwide vaccination campaign to protect against COVID-19 in India began on January 16 this year by giving doses of vaccine to health workers. On February 2, this campaign was expanded and vaccination of personnel working on the front lines started.
In the next phase, vaccination of people above 60 years of age and 45 years of age with serious diseases was started from March 1. From April 1, the facility of vaccination was given to all people above the age of 45 years and on May 1, it was further expanded to start immunization of all people above the age of 18 years.
29,616 new cases of corona surfaced in the country on Saturday
On Saturday, 29,616 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the country. At the same time, 28,046 people have also been cured after defeating the epidemic in the last 24 hours, after which the number of people who have recovered from Corona so far has increased to 3,28,76,319 in the country. The Union Health Ministry said that the active patients of COVID-19 in the country have now come down to 3,01,442 lakh. In the last 24 hours, 290 patients have lost their lives due to the epidemic.
