During corona virus epidemic, the trend of eating eggs as an immunity booster food is increasing. But due to many restrictions including lockdown, eggs are not being supplied. The situation of the chicken market is also similar.
Due to the lockdown, eggs are not being supplied to the market.
During the corona virus epidemic, everyone’s emphasis is only on whether their immunity is maintained. People are trying every way for this. Eggs are also considered to be an immunity booster food. The demand for eggs is also increasing during this frightening second wave of Kovid-19. But in many states, the supply chain has deteriorated due to lockdown and similar restrictions. The condition is that it is difficult to find eggs on the online grocery platforms.
There was also a big drop in egg rate last week. However, there have been some improvements in this week. Now the average egg price has increased from 35 to 40 paise. In Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow, wholesale supply of eggs is being made at Rs 400 per hundred.
Egg supply most disrupted in villages
A person from Lucknow’s Poultry Industry told that there is a difference between demand and supply. Customers want to buy eggs but the supply is not able to reach them. The goods are lying on the farms but it is not able to get up for the market. This is the reason that till a few days ago, there was a drop in the rate.
Even though some amount of supply is being done in the cities, the supply of eggs in rural areas is completely disrupted. It is now expected that the lockdown will open, only then will the egg market pick up.
Sannata in Ghazipur Mandi
Not only egg, but chicken also has the same condition. In spite of being in demand in Ghazipur mandi adjoining the capital Delhi, Sannata is still there. Let us know that Ghazipur mandi is the biggest chicken market in Asia. From normal days, 5 lakh chicken is supplied everyday from this mandi, it is difficult to supply even half of its chicken. Due to the lockdown, chicken is not being supplied to other cities.
Poultry owners not picking chicks
Talking about the chicken market, the existing poultry is being sold in the poultry farm, but the poultry owners are not raising the chickens in view of the situation of uncertainty. It takes 4 to 5 months to prepare these chicks. Most poultry forms are supplied at low capacity. First, where a poultry farm has a capacity of 50,000 chicken, they are keeping only 25 to 30 thousand chicken.
Shortage of chicken may occur after lockdown
He told that in the coming time, there may also be a shortage of chicken in the market. Children are not coming to the poultry farm. In such a situation, after 4 to 5 months, chicken will not be available according to the demand. Poultry owners are also worried that if they raise chickens to their full potential and if it is not supplied, then the weight of the chickens will increase. Overweight chickens do not have any demand in the market. Also, their grain and living etc. will also have to be incurred.
