Corona Crisis: Cases of corona infection are increasing among children in many states in the country, is this the knock of the fourth wave?

Corona cases in the country (corona virus) has started showing an increase again. Although this increase is not very shocking, but it is definitely alarming and has led to the fourth wave (fourth wave) has intensified fears. The number of infected children is increasing in Delhi-NCR

In Delhi alone, 27% of the corona infected who are hospitalized are children. Out of the total 51 corona patients admitted here, 14 children are involved. Whereas in Gautam Budh Nagar i.e. Noida district of Uttar Pradesh, 107 new cases were reported in Noida on Monday (April 18), out of which 33 school children are involved. So far 100 children have been infected with Corona in Noida. Along with Noida, many school children have also been infected in Ghaziabad. In the last 24 hours, 103 new positive patients have been confirmed in Gautam Budh Nagar and 33 in Ghaziabad.

On Monday, 65 new cases of corona were reported in Noida. Officials said that the number of patients under treatment in Noida has reached 332, including about 100 children. According to official figures, 65 more people have been confirmed infected since 6 am on Sunday, while 13 people have also recovered during this period. Chief Medical Officer Dr Sunil Kumar Sharma said, ’65 new cases of epidemic have been reported, including 19 children getting infected.’

Not only this, corona cases are increasing among children in Mizoram too. After 99 new cases of corona were reported in Mizoram in the last 24 hours on Tuesday, the number of infected in the state has increased to 2,26,271. 28 children are also included in the new cases reported.

CM Yogi issued guidelines

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued several instructions to the team-9 formed for the management of COVID. CM Yogi says that we have to be cautious about the health security of children. Children should be made aware about the COVID protocol in schools as necessary. Along with this, in the districts of NCR (Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat) and Lucknow district, the people who were left out of vaccination should be identified and vaccinated. Public address system should be used effectively.

What do health experts say

On the other hand, amidst increasing cases of infection in children, health experts say that there is no need to panic, as most children are mildly ill and recover from treatment based on symptoms. However, experts also stressed that children eligible for the vaccine must be given a dose of the vaccine.

Not only this, health experts say that consistent and proper use of masks, adherence to standard hygiene protocols and washing hands are the main pillars of COVID-compliant behaviour.

Randeep Guleria, director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), told news agency Bhasha, ‘There is no need to panic, because the data obtained from the previous waves confirms that even if children are exposed to COVID-19, they will have mild symptoms. There are mild infections and if treated according to the symptoms, they get better very quickly. He also said that therefore eligible children should take their dose of vaccine, children who have not been vaccinated need not panic, because the risk of serious infection in them is very less.

Epidemic and public health expert Dr. Chandrakant Laharia says that we should remember that the news of children being infected with corona is getting some attention because schools have opened. However, even when the schools were closed, about 70 to 90 percent of the children have already got the infection. This information has been obtained from many head related surveys. He said that the infection of COVID in children is mild and mostly asymptomatic.

The initial symptoms of corona infection in young children are high fever and diarrhea followed by vomiting, while older children often complain of persistent headache. In the period of the epidemic so far, there has not been much effect of infection on children.

During the third wave of corona in the country, since the highest number of 3.47 lakh daily cases were registered in the week of 17-23 January, there was a decrease in new cases for 11 consecutive weeks. But now for the first time during 11-17 April, an increase in new corona cases has been registered. During 11-17 April, where 6610 new cases were registered in the country, whereas earlier during 4-10 April only 4900 cases came daily in a week and this is 35% more. In three states Delhi, Haryana and UP, more than 100 percent increase has been registered in daily new cases last week.
