In this year’s biggest Naxal attack so far, at least 22 soldiers were martyred and more than 20 injured in Bijapur of Chhattisgarh (Chhattisgarh). The encounter took place on Saturday between the 300-member team of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) and the security forces. The country is awestruck by this martyrdom of the soldiers.

According to Home Ministry and CRPF sources, 12 to 20 Naxalites have also been killed in this encounter. Now the input from surveillance drone has revealed that the bodies of the Naxalites killed in the attack were taken in trolley-trucks. After the attack, the body of a Maoist has also been found from the place of encounter.

“Now we will respond to the attack in our own way”

According to the report, the number of Maoists killed in the attack is much more than this. These inputs have been received from heron drones present in the area. According to this, at least two tractor-trolleys were used to carry the bodies of Naxalites piled in the encounter from the forest.

According to the report, a senior CRPF official said, ‘We estimate that 12 to 20 Naxalites have been killed in the attack. Otherwise, they would not have ordered 2 tractor trolleys. They tried to surround the Cobra, Black Panther, DRG-STF jawans but were not successful. We will now respond to the attack in our own way.

The CRPF officer said that the Naxalites had tried to surround another area on Sunday morning but their attempt was thwarted and the jawans safely reached their hideout.

Naxalites use grenade launcher for attack

According to the report, another official said that the death toll on both sides was high because the encounter took place in Bijapur-Sukma area of Bastar district, which is considered to be the stronghold of the Naxalites.

The officer said that the Naxalites used the grenade launcher for the attack, due to which so many soldiers were martyred. However, the security forces also retaliated with grenade launchers and automatic weapons.

Of the 22 personnel killed in this attack on Saturday, 9 are from CRPF, while the rest are from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) of the state police.

Out of 22 bodies of security personnel, 5 were recovered on Saturday and more than 17 bodies were recovered by a joint team of CRPF, DRG and STF during a massive search operation early Sunday.
