Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel (CM Bhupesh Baghel) said that more economic activities need to be conducted to develop Gauthan as Rural Industrial Park. With this, the villagers will move forward in the path of self-reliance and the dream of ‘Gram Swaraj’ and self-supporting villages of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi will come true. In fact, CM Bhupesh Baghel addressed an online transfer program of Rs 10 crore 90 lakh to cattle rearing villagers, women groups associated with Gauthans and Gauthan committees under the Godhan Nyay Yojana at his residence office on Thursday.
In the amount released by the Chief Minister, from June 1 to June 15, Rs 2.95 crore was paid in lieu of cow dung purchased from cattle rearing villagers, farmers, landless in Gauthans, Rs 4.79 crore to Gauthan committees and Rs 3.16 crore to women groups. Dividend amount is included. The Chief Minister said that along with the production of organic manure in Gauthans, many economic activities like poultry, fish farming, mushroom production, vegetable production are being conducted by women self-help groups. Along with this, the work of value addition in minor forest produce is also being done. Our sisters are benefiting from this. The confidence which has come in the sisters because of this is valuable, its value cannot be estimated. These activities have to be increased further in the Gauthans, so that rural industrial parks are made in our villages and villages become self-supporting and the dream of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, of Gram Swaraj and self-supporting villages can be realized.
In the program, he has appealed to the farmers and villagers to cooperate in the Roka-Chheka campaign being organized to save the upcoming Kharif crops from the grazing of animals. He said that this would also save the crop of the fields and the profit from Godhan Nyay Yojana would also increase.
2.11 lakh villagers are getting benefited from Godhan Nyay Yojana
The Chief Minister also said that so far 73 lakh 51 thousand quintals of cow dung have been purchased under Godhan Nyay Yojana. In lieu of this, a total of Rs 147 crore 06 lakh has been paid. So far, a total of Rs 136 crore 04 lakh has been paid to Gauthan committees and self-help groups. More than 2 lakh 11 thousand rural, animal husbandry farmers are getting benefited from Godhan Nyay Yojana. The CM further said that the day of farming has come. With renewed vigor, the farmers must have started preparing. I sincerely hope that this year will produce more than last year. The area under cultivation will also increase this year. Paddy is being produced in abundance in Chhattisgarh, but now you should also think about other crops, so that you can earn more profit. Today, arrangements have been made for input assistance in all Kharif crops under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. If farmers choose crops according to the quality of the land of their area, then you will get more profit.

‘Farmers should use organic manure’
Baghel said that instead of chemical fertilizers, use organic fertilizers more and more, this will maintain the fertility of the land and will also reduce the cost. Chemical fertilizers are supplied to Chhattisgarh by the central government. We are not getting chemical fertilizers from the center in the quantity we need. We are continuously trying for this. The production of organic manure in village-village through Godhan Nyay Yojana has given great support to the farmers of Chhattisgarh. This year we are preparing for the production of organic fertilizers on a large scale. I have instructed the officers to buy more and more cow dung and make organic manure through self-help groups. We have always paid you every installment of Godhan Nyay Yojana on time. I had released the last installment on June 5 from Kanker. Today the 46th installment is being paid from Raipur.
So far, cow dung has been purchased with an amount of Rs 160 crore
At the same time, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey while addressing the program said that due to the doubling of the number of Gauthans, the purchase of cow dung has also doubled. The people of the department are working towards taking this forward. When the decision was taken to purchase cow dung at the rate of Rs 2/kg in the state, no one had any belief that it would become such a big campaign not only in the state but in the country. So far, cow dung worth Rs 147 crore has been purchased. The Gauthan committees bought cow dung worth Rs 14 crore with their own money. Thus cow dung was purchased with an amount of about Rs 160 crore. We have given an amount of about Rs 136 crore to our Gauthan committees. Vermi compost worth about Rs 153 crore has been prepared. He said that self-help groups have received additional income of about Rs 35 to 40 crores from other activities in Gauthan. The profit we have earned from vermicompost and other activities is more than the amount of cow dung purchased.
On this occasion Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria, School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh, Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel, Parliamentary Secretary Kunwar Singh Nishad, MLA Rashmi Ashish Singh, Advisor to the Chief Minister.
