Slamming Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Sunday asked the Sarsanghchalak what development has happened in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the central government has failed to secure the state. In fact, on the previous day in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Mohan Bhagwat said that with the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the path of development has been opened for everyone. Earlier there was discrimination against Jammu and Ladakh under the guise of 370, now that discrimination is not there. The Kashmir Valley is also now directly taking advantage of development.
Sibal said, ‘I want to remind Bhagwat ji about what he said in February 2018. He said that it takes many months for the army to be ready but the RSS can be ready to go to the border and fight in 3 days. RSS leaders should never make such a statement. It is most unfortunate that Bhagwat ji said that he can be ready in 3 days. It’s been three years since 2018. Why don’t you get ready and go to the border? When Bhagwat ji, who is in such a position, makes such a statement, there must be some meaning, there should be some kind of honesty. He should respect his statement.
Raising the issue of terrorism in Kashmir, Sibal said, “We salute the nine people who laid down their lives for us. We lost our sons to terrorists. What development is Mohan Bhagwat talking about? Terrorism is raising its head, while UPA was in power such things never happened in Poonch. Bhagwat ji says that a lot of development has taken place in Jammu and Kashmir. We want to see what is that development and where is it on the ground? The Union Home Minister had promised that assembly elections would be held after the abrogation of Article 370. The fact is that they have not honored that commitment because they know that nothing is normal in J&K.
PM Modi should take care of what he said in 2014: Sibal
The Congress leader alleged that the Center has failed to secure Jammu and Kashmir. He said, ‘The Prime Minister should remember what he said in both 2014 and 2019? He had said ‘just think of the jawans who lost their lives… think of your mothers’. I want the Prime Minister to reflect on that, while it is easy to criticize and it is difficult to accept the reality that you have failed to secure the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
