The central government has become alert regarding the festive season. The Center has appealed to the states to celebrate the festival by following the Corona Protocols. Actually, according to government data, there were 2,30,971 active corona cases in the country on Sunday. 34 districts in nine states and union territories still report weekly positivity rates of at least 10 percent. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a weekly rate of five percent or less suggests that the spread of infection is somewhat under control. There are apprehensions that the corona may increase once again in the three-month festive season that started in October.

A central government official said on condition of anonymity, “This year should be about Covid-safe festivals, which means people celebrate festivals online in a big way to prevent the spread of Covid-19. ” “We are asking states to be extra vigilant during the next 100 days, and ensure that COVID-appropriate behavior is observed. Only then will we be able to save the country from the expected surge in corona cases.

‘It is necessary to follow protocols to prevent corona’

“There has been an established lapse of prevention among the public, so it is more important to make extra efforts to make people understand the importance of not giving up right now,” the official said. He said that “it is important to keep doing what we are doing to stop the disease spreading more rapidly and to look for ways to improve on existing measures to have a better effect.”
Center gave instructions to the states regarding the festive season

The Center has been issuing guidelines to the states regularly. They have been asked to intensify containment measures in areas or districts that continue to report high caseloads. The states have also been asked to create awareness among the people so that it becomes a collective effort, especially during the festive season, as there has always been a spurt in new cases after festivals. The Center has asked states not to allow mass gatherings in areas and districts with at least 5 percent case positivity.
