A speeding BMW car allegedly hit a 50-year-old man traveling on a ‘sports cycle’ at Mahipalpur flyover in south-west Delhi. A person riding a bicycle died in this accident. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Manoj C. told that the driver of the luxury car has been arrested. According to the information, the car was of VIP number.
Driver of the BMW could not control the vehicle due to a punctured tire
Delhi Police has said that during the investigation it was found that the driver of the BMW could not control the vehicle due to a punctured tire and due to this his car hit the cyclist. A senior Delhi Police officer said that the incident took place in Vasant Kunj area. Police reached Mahipalpur flyover on the way towards Dhaula Kuan, where BMW car and bicycle were found parked on the side of the road in an accident condition.
BMW driver took the injured to the hospital
He told that the BMW driver took the injured to the hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead. The police officer said that the deceased has been identified as Shubhendu Chatterjee, a resident of Gurgaon Sector-49. Police said that the BMW car has been seized after registering an FIR under relevant sections. Along with this, the driver of the car has also been arrested.
