Bihar’s Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday. During this, leaders of all opposition parties were also present along with Tejashwi. After the meeting, Tejashwi Yadav said that Nitish Kumar has talked about conducting caste census at the cost of the state. CM has also talked about calling an all-party meeting soon for this.
Leader of Opposition going to meet CM
In Bihar, there has been a lot of political tension in the power and opposition regarding the prohibition of liquor. While the government is in action to effectively implement the prohibition, on the other hand the opposition is calling it a flop on the whole. In such an environment, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Tejashwi Yadav met CM Nitish Kumar regarding the caste census.
On the fourth day of the winter session, Tejashwi Yadav met Nitish Kumar in the Chief Minister’s chamber in the Assembly along with the leaders of all the opposition parties. After a conversation with Nitish Kumar for about half an hour, the Leader of the Opposition has informed that the state government in Bihar will conduct a caste census at its own expense.
“All party meeting in three to four days”
Tejashwi said that he met the Chief Minister along with the leaders of all the parties. Told the Chief Minister during the meeting that when the Center has made it clear that caste based census will not be conducted. After that the state government should get it done at its level. On which Nitish Kumar said that soon an all-party meeting will be called for this in the defeat. Tejashwi Yadav said that an all-party meeting can be called within the next three to four days. The Chief Minister himself has given this assurance.
“Opposition Unity Came”
Tejashwi Yadav said that the leaders of all the opposition parties of Bihar met Nitish Kumar today and unitedly expressed their views. Here all the opposition parties have shown solidarity on this matter. It is the result of the unity of the opposition that the government has agreed to conduct caste census in Bihar. Caste census will increase social transparency in Bihar. Tejashwi said that the fight started by Lalu Prasad Yadav regarding the caste census will be completed in Bihar under any circumstances.
Center said there will be no caste census
In Bihar, where the opposition is meeting the Chief Minister regarding the demand for caste based census. At the same time, leaders of all the parties of Bihar led by Nitish Kumar had met PM Narendra Modi. After which the center clarified its stand on this. The Central Government has said that there is no plan to conduct census on the basis of caste in the country. The Center has said that in the last 70 years no census was conducted on the basis of caste in the country. On the other hand, in the affidavit given in connection with a case in the Supreme Court, the central government had also said that it is not going to conduct the 2021 census on the basis of caste.
