Under the new scheme, eligible artists who have made significant contributions to Bihar’s rich cultural heritage but are currently facing financial hardship will receive a monthly pension of ₹3,000.

“I am pleased to inform you that the Chief Minister Artists’ Pension Scheme has been approved by the cabinet,” Nitish Kumar said in a social media post. “It will provide monthly financial assistance to senior and economically weaker artists who have contributed to preserving our state’s cultural legacy.”

The Chief Minister emphasized that this initiative is designed to honour and encourage artists who have kept the state’s traditional art forms alive despite personal struggles. “This pension will boost the morale of artists and enhance their dignity,” he added.
