HIV positive blood.
The personnel of Sadar Hospital in Bihar Sharif donated HIV positive blood to a pregnant woman. This caused panic in the health department. At the same time, the superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Sujit Kumar Akela has sought clarification from the blood bank technician. Along with this, a high committee inquiry has been demanded against the negligent worker. The surprising thing is how HIV positive blood was stored in the blood bank. Whereas, it is necessary to test HIV positive before taking blood from anyone and storing it. At present, the investigation of how HIV negative came in the test while storing is going on.
Actually, on November 3, an HIV positive woman had come to Sadar Hospital for delivery. At the same time, during delivery, she needed one unit of blood. In such a situation, her husband gave blood, who did not tell about being HIV positive. In such a situation, after examining that blood, it was kept in the blood bank and, instead, another blood was offered to the pregnant woman. At the same time, after the next 1 week, this blood was given to another woman during delivery.
Know how HIV positive blood was exposed?
Let us inform that last 2 days ago, HIV infected woman had reached Sadar Hospital to take AIDS medicine. Meanwhile, while taking the medicine, the counselor, during the scrutiny of her papers, found that she had given birth on 3 November. During that time, her husband had given his blood and offered another blood to his wife. In such a situation, the counselor’s senses were blown away. After this, after examining the blood given by her husband, it came to know that this blood has been given to another pregnant woman.
Explanation sought by serving notice to lab technician
At the same time, in this case, Dr. Ramkumar, in-charge of the blood bank, said that a demand has been made for clarification by serving a notice to the lab technician Santosh Kumar. However, prima facie there has been negligence in the investigation. Along with this, the woman’s husband has also hidden the matter from the lab technician about being positive. During this, the Health Department official said that the personnel who play with the lives of patients in this way will not be spared under any circumstances.
