A review meeting was held with officials of Bhagalpur and Munger Division under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Bihar Government Amrit Lal Meena for the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. All important aspects were discussed in detail in this review meeting held in the auditorium of the Chief Secretariat on Thursday. In this meeting, a detailed report of election preparations was taken from the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and other concerned officials of both the divisions. In this, the status of polling stations, security arrangements, updated work of voter list and adherence to the model code of conduct were reviewed.
During this, the Chief Secretary directed that this time set a target of zero pole boycott in the election. The Chief Secretary also said that now there are less days left in the assembly elections, so all the officers should be cautious about their obligations. He instructed to start checking of vehicles in the districts at different times as well as to function the border checkpost. He instructed the Superintendents of Police to go to the Arms Holder's house and get the verification done.
Emphasis on publicity of awareness
Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjial directed to especially emphasize on publicity. He instructed the BLO to go door-to-door to fill the calculation form and collect it and submit it on time. Along with this, make arrangements for publicity in urban areas. Garbage trains should also be publicized through jingle. Most publicity to vote in elections. There is a need to run a campaign at all levels to make people aware of voting.
Instructions to make a list of criminals
DGP Vinay Kumar directed to make a list of all other criminals including history sheeter, notorious criminals and fugitives. Also directed to complete the matters of Arms Act in a timely manner. He emphasized the focus on speedy trial cases. All the police stations were directed to be fully alert during the election. All the SPs were asked to be vigilant especially about the security system.
