The campaigning for the third phase of the West Bengal Assembly Election came to a halt at 6.30 pm on Sunday evening. On the last day of the election campaign, various political parties gave their strength. CM Mamata Banerjee today held several meetings in Hooghly, South 24 Parganas and Howrah, while UP CM Yogi Adityanath also held several meetings.
Polling will be held for 31 seats in the three districts of South Bengal on April 6 between 7 am and 6.30 pm. There are 16 seats in South 24 Parganas district, 7 seats in Howrah and 8 seats in Hooghly district. 205 candidates from different political parties are contesting, while the total number of polling stations is 10871.
Strict security arrangements will be maintained
Please tell that voting is to be held in eight phases in West Bengal. Polling has been held for 60 seats in two phases on 27 March and 1 April. These include Nandigram, from where CM Mamata Banerjee was competing, while the BJP had nominated Shubhendu Adhikari against him. In this phase, the Election Commission has made tight security arrangements and an additional 200 company central forces will be deployed.

The fate of the well-known candidates will be decided
Prominent candidates in this phase include Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee from Baruipur West of TMC, Soukat Molla from Canning East, Karbi Manna from Haripal, Dilip Yadav from Furfurasharif, Sujata Mandal Khan from Arambagh (SC), Swapan Dasgupta from Tarakeswar of BJP, Ulubediya Papia Adhikari from South, Tanushree Chakraborty from Shyampur and Deepak Haldar from Diamond Harbor and prominent candidates of United Front include former minister Kanti Ganguly from Raidighi, Subhash Naskar from Basanti etc.
