In Bengal (Bengal Assembly Election 2021), out of the total 31 seats voting today, 16 seats are in South 24 Parganas, 7 seats in Howrah and 8 seats in Hooghly district.
West Bengal today has a third phase of voting (Bengal Assembly Election Phase-3 Voting). Voting is being held on 31 assembly seats. Around 78 lakh 52 Hajars 425 voters will exercise their franchise. While 205 candidates are in the fray, out of the total 31 seats voting today, 16 seats are in South 24 Parganas, 7 seats in Howrah and 8 seats in Hooghly district. This entire constituency is considered to be the stronghold of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and has been considered a strong hold of the TMC in these areas.
In the last assembly election 2016, Mamta Banerjee’s party won these seats outright. His candidates had defeated the opponents completely and won 29 seats (TMC Won 29 Seats in Last Elections), while the Congress and the Left parties had to satisfy only one seat each. BJP’s account was not even opened. Even in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the ruling party retained its dominance.
Third phase voting in Bengal today
The first phase of elections was held in Bengal on 27 March. During that time the voting percentage was 84.63 percent. On the 1st of April, the second phase of voting took place. Then the voting percentage was 86.11 percent. Voting in the third phase is going on today in 31 assembly seats in Bengal. After this, elections will be held in five more phases in West Bengal. The last phase of voting is to be held in the state on 29 April. On May 2, the votes will be counted.
Tough competition between BJP-TMC
Today, three women are very important in the election, whose eyes are on everyone. Mukta Acharya, Antara Acharya and Deepa Priya, these three women are the District Magistrates of Howrah, South 24 Parganas and Hooghly. They have the responsibility of getting the election organized in an orderly manner. In the Bengal elections, a tough contest is being held between BJP and TMC.
