Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Vishva Hindu Parishad) Durga Puja (Durga Puja) on temples and statues of Hindu deities in Bangladesh during (Hindu Community in BangladeshStrongly condemning the incidents of attack, has demanded strict action against the invaders and protection of Hindus. VHP Union General Secretary Milind Parande (Milind Parande) has issued a statement demanding the government of Bangladesh to provide security to Hindus and take strict action against jihadists.
Religious places of Hindu minority community in Bangladesh have been targeted. According to media reports on Thursday, Hindu temples have been vandalized by some unknown miscreants during Durga Puja celebrations in Bangladesh. In the riots that followed, three people were killed and many others were injured. In view of this, the government has had to deploy paramilitary forces in 22 districts.
VHP General Secretary demands action against attack on Hindus
VHP’s Union General Secretary Milind Parande has said on Thursday that a copy of the Quran was placed on a statue of Hanuman ji outside a Durga Puja Mandap in the Comilla area of Chittagong Division in the dark of night and the Durga Puja Mandaps were arranged at different places. The Hindu society is deeply hurt by the shattering of the idols. He said that news is coming that there is a process of brutally torturing Hindus there. At least two Hindu minorities have died and more than 500 have been injured in the attacks on temples and puja pavilions. Incidents of desecration of idols during Durga Puja festival have taken place in many other places in Bangladesh. The situation is likely to deteriorate further in view of the fear of further attacks on Hindus there due to the alleged call by local extremist and terrorist organizations. Due to this the minority society of Bangladesh is even more afraid.
Demanded to curb jihadis and give compensation to the victim Hindus
He said that the Bangladesh government, while ensuring the safety of its minority Hindus, should curb the jihadis and make arrangements for compensation for the loss of the victims Hindus and fair compensation to the dead and injured. Parande today said that along with the Indian government, the international community should also pressurize the Bangladesh government to take appropriate action to protect the lives and property of the minority Hindus and their religious beliefs. Expressing concern over the silence of the United Nations and its related agencies on the subject, he said why do they shy away from action when it comes to protecting the human rights of Hindus? The Government of Bangladesh should ensure strict measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future with immediate arrest and severe punishment of jihadists. He assured that the entire Hindu society including Vishwa Hindu Parishad stands with the suffering Hindus of Bangladesh and we will extend all possible help to them.
