Taking a jibe at his opponents, Supriyo reminded them of his past with the BJP. He said, just want to ask a question to ’employed trolls’ who are definitely attacking me from their homes. Where were you guys when I was fighting for BJP since 2014? Ask your conscience who stabbed whose back. I don’t post anything on social media unless it is necessary. Just read the first two comments.
won elections twice
After joining the ruling party of Bengal, he had said, ‘I have been given a good opportunity. However, since I have joined TMC, there is no point in continuing on my seat in Asansol. I have entered politics because of Asansol. I will try my best for that constituency.
Babul won twice from the Asansol parliamentary constituency – in 2014 and in 2019. He also became the Union Minister of State in the Narendra Modi ministry, but things started going the other way and he was dropped in a cabinet reshuffle. After that he announced to leave politics overnight and within a few days he joined TMC.
