West Bengal is the only state where there will be five more phases of voting after today. Voting will also be held on 10, 17, 22 and 29 April in Bengal. The results of these five states will be released simultaneously on 2 May. Tight security arrangements have been made in all states in view of voting. The Election Commission has made special arrangements for the polling to be held on Tuesday amid the growing outbreak of Corona.
Voting on 31 seats in the third phase in Bengal on Tuesday.
In the third phase of the West Bengal assembly elections, preparations for the voting for 31 seats on Tuesday have been completed. While the BJP is busy demolishing the fort of the ruling Trinamool Congress, the Left Front-ISF-Congress alliance is expected to do well in these areas, where the politics of identity has deepened. There are more than 78.5 lakh registered voters in this phase, who have to decide the political fate of 205 candidates. Among them are BJP’s Rajya Sabha member Swapan Dasgupta, Trinamool Congress Minister Ashima Patra, CPI (M) leader Kanti Ganguly are the prominent leaders.
Voting today after 4 months of election atmosphere in Tamil Nadu
After nearly four months of election atmosphere and election campaign in Tamil Nadu, on one hand, the opposition DMK is pushing for the return of power in the state, on the other hand, the ruling AIADMK is trying to remain in power. Assembly elections are going to be held in the state on Tuesday. Voting for 140 seats of Kerala Legislative Assembly
Voting is going to be held in Kerala on Tuesday after weeks of vigorous campaigning in Kerala. 2.74 crore voters in the state will decide the fate of 957 candidates who have contested for the 140 seats of the state assembly. According to Election Commission data, the total voters of the state include 1,32,83,724 male, 1,41,62,025 female and 290 transgender voters.
Voting on 40 remaining assembly seats in Assam today
The remaining 40 assembly seats in Assam will be voted on today. In the final phase, the fate of 337 candidates, including senior minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, his five cabinet colleagues and BJP state president Ranjit Kumar Das, will be decided. The fate of the current 20 MLAs will be decided in this phase, including eight from Congress, five from BJP, one each from All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and BPF and one each from AGP.
A direct match between NDA and UPA in Puducherry
Voting preparations have been completed ahead of the Assembly elections to be held in Puducherry on 6 April. The Assembly was dissolved in Puducherry due to the failure of the Congress government to win the trust vote and now elections are being held here. A direct contest between the NDA and UPA is visible in this centrally-administered state. In the NDA camp, N Rangasamy’s All India NR Congress is contesting on 16 seats, BJP in nine and AIADMK in four seats.
