Udalguri Superintendent of Police Hiranya Barman said a man allegedly involved in several extortion cases was arrested from the Assam-Nagaland border in Karbi Anglong district on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police Hiranya Burman said, “The accused was brought to Udalguri after being arrested from the Assam-Nagaland border. Where at least eight cases are pending against him since 2008. The superintendent of police said that during this time the accused fled and the police team asked him to stop. The SP said, “When he did not stop, our team had to open fire on him. He has got two bullets in his leg.
