Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has laid the foundation stone of the country's first Tribhuvan Cooperative University (TSU) in Anand, Gujarat on Saturday. This university will be built in the premises of the Institute of Water and Land Management. Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Shah said that this university will end the allegations of nepotism in the cooperative sector and only trained persons will get jobs in this field in future.
This university will be built on 125 acres of land at a cost of Rs 500 crore. It is named after Tribhuvandas Kishibhai Patel, one of the prominent leaders of India's cooperative movement. He played an important role in the establishment of Amul. Which is less than a revolution for farmers who produce milk all over India today.
Now along with education, youth will also be given jobs: Shah
Amit Shah said that 'first people were given jobs in the cooperative sector, then they were trained. But now TSU will fulfill this deficiency. This university will further strengthen the cooperative sector by training. Due to which the youth will not have to wander around for employment. ” He told that about 30 crore people of the country, ie every fourth person, is connected to the cooperative sector.
Shah gave a befitting reply to the opposition for not renaming Dr. Varghese Kurien
Shah responded to some people not to name the university after Dr. Varghese Kurien, the father of the white revolution. He said that 'Dr. No one can deny the role of Kurien in the cooperative sector, but Tribhuvandas Patel laid the foundation of this movement. Today this area is so strong because of his approach.

Congress does not even know its leader: Shah
Taking a dig at the Congress leaders, Shah said that they are raising such questions, while they do not even know that Tribhuvandas Patel was from his own party. At that time, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) did not exist. He said that this university will bring new revolution in the cooperative sector and provide new employment opportunities to the youth by training in this field.
