In recent days, there has been continuous rain in many parts of the country. Due to this, there has been a lot of damage to the finished Kharif crops. The rains in October have ruined the hard work of the farmers. However, now a relief news has come out from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). According to the IMD’s weather forecast for Thursday, except a few states, there will be no rain and the weather will remain clear.
The IMD in its forecast on Thursday said that Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry may receive heavy rains at isolated places till October 25. Due to a fresh Western Disturbance, the Western Himalayan region, especially Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh may receive heavy rain and thundershowers from October 22 to 24.
It will rain once again in Punjab
The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of rain on 23 and 24 in the plains of North-West India adjoining the Western Himalayan region. Rain is also forecast in Punjab on 23rd. Here too it can rain with strong winds. This is likely to affect the harvesting of paddy and sowing of Rabi crops.

Northeast Monsoon will arrive with the departure of Southwest Monsoon
According to a report in Skymet Weather, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls may occur over parts of eastern Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and parts of Tamil Nadu on Friday. Light to moderate rain may occur over rest of Northeast India, Sikkim and Lakshadweep. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on 22 October. Apart from this, rain may occur in some parts of Punjab on 22 October.
Another report by the private weather forecasting agency said that this will be the third consecutive year that the northeast monsoon will hit the Tamil Nadu coast with the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon. The Meteorological Department has said that by October 26, the southwest monsoon will return from the entire country. After its withdrawal, the Northeast Monsoon knocks in the southern states and rain activities start again there.
