The possibility of heavy rains has been expressed in South Indian states for the next few days. At the same time, there is a forecast of rain in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. However, monsoon has made a comeback from most parts of the country. Despite this, conditions are favorable for rain in some states.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that from October 15, there will be an increase in rain activities in East India and Central India. At the same time, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in South Peninsular India for the next 4-5 days. According to the IMD, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains over Coastal and Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu for the next 4 days.
Chances of rain in UP and Uttarakhand
According to the IMD’s forecast released on Wednesday, from October 16, a period of rain and thundershowers may start in North-West India. On October 17, heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
The Meteorological Department had told on Tuesday that the southwest monsoon has already returned from different parts of north-west India including Gujarat and Maharashtra. Now it has also returned from states like Odisha, West Bengal and Manipur in eastern India.
Under the influence of lower level easterlies, fresh spell of rainfall with thunderstorm & lightning likely over Northwest India from 16th October. Isolated heavy rainfall also likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh on 17th October, 2021.

Rain may occur in these states on Thursday
According to a report by private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in Kerala on Thursday. Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy rains may occur over Tamil Nadu, Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.
Apart from this, moderate rain with one or two places may occur over Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Odisha, Lakshadweep, Konkan and Goa and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Light rain is possible in isolated parts of Madhya Maharashtra, South Gujarat and rest of Northeast India and Madhya Pradesh.
