Amidst the increasing use of fertilizers in agriculture, organic farming around the world (Organic Farming) demand has increased. Meanwhile, in the country also from the central government Organic farming is being promoted. For this the Union Agriculture Ministry (Agriculture MinistryTwo schemes have been run by the Government of India), which encourages farmers to produce crops in an organic way. This information was given on Tuesday by the Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Kailash Chaudhary (Kailash Chaudhry) in reply to a question in Lok Sabha.
These two schemes are being operated
Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary replied that the Central Government has started two schemes from 2015-16 through Cluster and Farmer Producer Organization (FPO). In which Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for the North-East region are included. He told that both these schemes help the farmers doing organic farming in planting, harvesting, marketing, management.
Help is available up to 50 thousand rupees per hectare
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Kailash Choudhary said that to promote organic farming, the Central Government provides financial assistance of Rs 50,000 per hectare to the farmers for 3 years under the Traditional Agricultural Development Scheme. Out of which 31 thousand rupees per hectare goes directly to the farmers account. Apart from this, under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development, Rs 46575 per hectare is given for 3 years for the manufacture of FPOs, quality seeds, training and others.
Portal has been created to provide platform to organic products
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Kailash Choudhary said that the central government is paying full attention to the marketing and marketing of food products including food grains produced from organic farming. Under this, the government has made a portal. In this, 5.73 lakh farmers are connected in the portal. Farmers upload the details of their organic produce on the portal, after which the farmers are helped in marketing and marketing of their produce.
India’s exports of organic products increased by 6 times
The export of organic products of India has also attained new heights. Giving information about the plans of the government to promote the export of organic products of the country, Minister of State Kailash Choudhary said that India’s brand in organic farming is becoming popular all over the world. The brand which is known as India Organic, has become recognized all over the world. He said that in 2013, 1.77 lakh metric tonnes of organic products were exported from the country, which has reached 8.88 metric tonnes at present. In this way, there has been an increase of up to 6 times.
