Farmer Protest: A bill to withdraw three agricultural laws has been passed in Parliament on Monday. But, still the farmers organization is not ready to end the protest on which demands…
In a recent letter to the government by the Kisan Morcha, the MSP law was also described as an important demand.
On 19 November 2021 i.e. a few days ago, while addressing the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to withdraw the three agricultural laws, about which the movement has been going on for a long time. After this announcement by the PM, it was believed that the farmers’ movement would end now. However, then on behalf of the farmers, it was first asked to get it passed in Parliament. Now on Monday, both houses of Parliament have agreed to withdraw the bill.
After this there is a question in the minds of the people that why the farmers are still not ending the movement. The answer is that there are still about 6 such demands of farmer organizations, which have not been fulfilled. The farmers say that only after the fulfillment of those demands, the farmers’ movement will be ended. By the way, the farmers’ organization will prepare the further strategy of the movement on December 1. In such a situation, we know that what are the demands of the farmers, which the farmers are standing to fulfill.
MSP is the main issue
In a recent letter to the government by the Kisan Morcha, the MSP law was also described as an important demand. Kisan Morcha says that the minimum support price based on the entire cost of cultivation (C2+50%) should be made a legal entitlement of all farmers, above all agricultural produce, so that every farmer of the country should get at least minimum support for his entire crop. Guaranteed purchase at the minimum support price announced by the government. Let us tell you that a committee formed on this had given this recommendation to the then Prime Minister in 2011 and your government had also announced about it in Parliament.
Compensation to the families of the deceased protesters
The next demand of the farmer organizations includes compensation to the families of the farmers who died during the agitation. The organization demands that so far around 700 farmers have been martyred in the movement. There should be a system of compensation and rehabilitation of their families. To build a martyr memorial in the memory of the martyr farmers, land should be given on the Singhu border.
Return of the cases filed against the protesters
The issue of withdrawal of cases filed against the protesters is also included in the demands made by the farmers. There is a demand that thousands of farmers in Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and many states during this agitation (from June 2020 till date) should be withdrawn immediately.
Electricity bill refund
The demand for the return of the electricity bill of the farmers is also important. Farmers’ organizations say that the draft of the Electricity Act Amendment Bill, 2020/2021″ should be withdrawn. The organizations also say that when many issues were discussed before the government, then the government had promised that it would be withdrawn, but then it was included in the agenda of the Parliament in defiance of the promise.
Return of the case filed for burning stubble
The provisions of punishment to farmers should be removed in the “Commission for Management of Air Quality in the National Capital Region and its allied areas Act, 2021”. In this context, he also said that this year the government has removed some anti-farmer provisions, but through section 15, again the scope of punishment has been made to the farmer. Let us inform that on Saturday, while appealing to the protesting farmers to end the agitation, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar had said that the Center has agreed to their demand to decriminalize stubble burning.
Minister Ajay Mishra sacked
The next demand is – Ajay Mishra Teni, accused of section 120B, the mastermind of the Lakhimpur Kheri murder case, is roaming freely and remains a minister in your cabinet. He is also sharing the stage with you and other senior ministers. They should be sacked and arrested.
