The leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad called on CM Yogi Adityanath (CM Yogi Adityanath) demanding a ban on meat, fish, egg and liquor within a radius of five kilometers of the Sangam. Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s minister of cow protection, Kashi province, Mani Tiwari has written in a letter to CM Yogi Adityanath that the pilgrimage of Prayagraj is a big center of faith of crores of Sanatani Hindus.
He wrote in the letter that here apart from Kumbh, Ardh Kumbh or Magh Mela, when crores of devotees reach from far away to take a dip of Aasta. During this time, if they see immoral activities like meat, fish and alcohol, then their faith gets hurt. In such a situation, the purchase and sale of all these substances should be banned. On the other hand, the demand of Vishwa Hindu Parishad has been supported by Mahant Balbir Giri Maharaj, the priest of Bade Hanuman temple and has said that this demand has been going on for years. He said that CM Yogi himself is a sanyasi and he is sure that he will take a decision soon and respect the dignity of the Sangam.
Liquor and meat are banned in Mathura
Whether the government will take any step on the demand of saints along with Vishwa Hindu Parishad. This will be something to be seen. Earlier in September, the UP government had banned the sale of liquor and meat around the temple in Mathura. CM Yogi had announced that there would be no sale of liquor and meat in the pilgrimage site area. In view of the faith of the travelers coming to the Braj region, the government had taken this decision. At the same time, CM Yogi Adityanath had come to Mathura on Shri Krishna Janmashtami last year. During this, working according to the wishes of the saints, he had announced a ban on the sale of meat and liquor in Mathura. He had said that the people affected by this can start the business of milk.
