The government claims that with the construction of this expressway, the avenues of development will also open for the people of Bundelkhand. It is the effort of the government that by completing the remaining work of this expressway as soon as possible, this year, trains should be speeded up on it.
The foundation stone of Bundelkhand Expressway was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 29 February 2020. The construction of this expressway is expected to boost agricultural investment and industrial development. Bundelkhand Expressway will start from Bharatkup in Chitrakoot and connect with Yamuna Expressway (Agra-Lucknow) near Kudrail village in Etawah via Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba and Auraiya. By connecting both the expressways, time and resources will be saved in commuting from Bundelkhand to the capital of the country, Delhi. Pollution will also reduce due to reduction in the consumption of diesel and petrol. This expressway is of 296.07 kms.
14 thousand 849 crores is the cost of the expressway
According to government figures, the cost of this expressway is about Rs 14,849 crore. After the start of the expressway, it will also be made of 6 lanes, at present, four lanes are being made. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also inspected it. Its length in Banda is 61.3 km. Almost all the land of Banda has been acquired for Bundelkhand Expressway. Industrial area will expand along the expressway, which will increase employment opportunities. Agricultural investment can also get a boost for the farmers here.
About 90 percent work of expressway completed
According to the information, till now about 90 percent work of Bundelkhand Expressway has been completed. The roads have also been completed. Now the work of construction of bridges and flyovers on Ken, Yamuna and Betwa rivers is going on in full swing. In the construction of the expressway, 6 toll plazas, 18 flyovers, 4 railway over bridges, 14 major bridges and 266 minor bridges are being constructed. It is being speculated that by the end of this year, Bundelkhand Expressway will be operational. Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority CEO Avnish Awasthi has also given instructions for the construction of the expressway in the stipulated time. It is being told that in many districts the progress of construction work was slow due to land acquisition and COVID. Banda District Officer Anurag Patel told that the expressway can be started by the end of June.
