There will be a meeting with government officials next week regarding Noida Film City. All models will be discussed in this meeting. This film city is to be made in three stages.
A meeting with government officials is to be held next week to discuss all the models mentioned by the consultants for making the Film City in Uttar Pradesh. However, officials said that there was a preparation to make it first with such an option, under which the Film City project in Noida Sector 21 was to have an amusement park with 60 swings, 600 rooms and other ancillary facilities in 321 acres.
Officials said that the entire Film City project to be built on 1,000 acres will be developed in three phases by 2029. The first phase will be completed by 2024, the second phase 2026 and the third phase by 2029. While preparing the development model, the consultant (CBRE) studied the work of major studios in the US, Japan and Singapore. In addition, the number of visitors to popular studios and film cities of the country was also taken into consideration while preparing suggestions for the project.
Team collecting information in every way
The report also mentions the number of films, TV series and over-the-top media services produced over the years. The demand and occupancy ratios were calculated after talks with officials of Mumbai Film City, Ramoji Film City, Mehboob Studios and Kamal Amrohi Studios. (YEIDA) Chief Executive Officer of YEIDA, Arun Vir Singh stated that the most important part was to find out the requirement of land for various facilities and development options.
The report gave officials an idea of the number of visitors to the Film City by 2029, the number of hotels and rooms required, and what the characteristics of an amusement park should be. Without experience, deciding the product mix for such a large project is a challenge for any authority. He said that a decision on all such facilities will be discussed in a meeting with government officials.
Why is Film City being built in three stages?
It was decided to develop the Film City project in phases, so that feasibility and optimum value remain. The first phase will come up on 321 acres, while the second and third phase will be developed on a total of 298 and 382 acres. (CBRE) According to CBRE’s report, Film City could attract 439 producers during the initial years of operation. About 3 lakh people are expected to visit this area in the first year of its launch.
Once fully built, the Film City and the amusement park together can earn a revenue of Rs 25,000 crore during the initial period and Rs 30,000 crore in 2025.
