11 year old Rahul trapped in borewell for more than 13 hours
An 11-year-old boy has fallen into an 80 feet deep borewell in Janjgir Champa, Chhattisgarh. SDRF and NDRF teams are engaged in the rescue operation. At the same time, CM Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to intensify the rescue operation.
Chhattisgarh (ChhattisgarhAn 11-year-old boy fell into an 80 feet deep borewell on Friday in Janjgir-Champa district. police (Chhattisgarh Police) Officials said that the NDRF and SDRF have been called for assistance to get the child out safely and rescue operation is going on. Janjgir-Champa District Superintendent of Police Vijay Aggarwal said that the police have received information that on Friday afternoon, Rahul Sahu fell into an open dry borewell while playing in the back part of the house in Piharid village of Malkharoda block of the district. Agarwal told that when the family members heard the cry of the child from the borewell, they informed the villagers.
He said that when the district administration and police got information about the incident, senior police and district officials reached the spot and rescue work was started. A JCB is being used to dig a parallel pit near the borewell to bring the child out safely, the police official said. He told that NDRF and SDRF have been called for rescue work.
Oxygen is being delivered in borewell
The police officer said that a team of doctors has been sent to the spot. Arrangements have been made to provide oxygen to the child till inside the borewell. District officials said that the child’s father, Lala Ram Sahu, has informed that a few days ago, a borewell of about 80 feet deep was dug for a vegetable garden in the rear part of the house. According to Ram Sahu, when the water in the borewell did not come out, it was left unused.
Nikani is being kept with a special camera
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has asked the officials to take necessary steps to save the child and speed up the rescue operation. The good thing in the matter is that Rahul is getting constant response, the child is being monitored with a special camera, from this morning the NDRF team has again engaged in the rescue. The team of Health and PHE department is also present on the spot.
