Moonglet
Moonglet is basically a fluffy version of moong dal chilla or Indian pancake. Moonglet is a famous street food that you can eat even during dieting.
It is loaded with protein and is ideal for all weight watchers. If you love to eat new street food, then you must try this recipe.
Adding some vegetables like onion, tomato and capsicum makes this dish even more healthy. Moong dal is first soaked and then blended to make cheela batter.
Moonglet is cooked in butter and is a complete meal in itself. You can serve it for breakfast or dinner and this moonglet is perfect as a snack too.

Ingredients of Moonglet
2 servings
1 cup yellow moong dal
1/2 capsicum (green chili)
2 tbsp coriander leaves
1/4 tbsp dried mango powder
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 onion
1/2 tomato
1 piece green chili
2 pinch asafoetida
salt as required
how to make moonglet
Step 1- Soak and grind the lentils
Soak moong dal for 4-5 hours and then drain the water and put it in the blender. Blend to make a thick paste. Now add water as needed and blend again. Add more water in batches to make a solution of medium consistency.
Step 2- Prepare the Batter
Take out the mixture in a bowl. Add salt, asafoetida and mango powder. Now add finely chopped onion, tomato, capsicum, green chili and green coriander to it. Mix well to make a batter. Keep whisking for a few minutes until the batter becomes slightly foamy.
Step 3- Prepare Moonglet
Heat 1 tbsp butter in a small pan. Pour half the batter into the pan and let it cook for a few minutes. Make sure the pan is small and the batter forms a thick layer. Flip it to the other side and cook till it becomes crispy. Repeat this step to make one more moonglet.
Step 4- Ready to serve
Serve moonglet hot with ketchup, tamarind chutney or mint chutney.
