Baked Samosa Recipe
Eating samosas with hot tea in monsoon is a different pleasure. In such a situation, you can make baked samosa instead of oiled samosa. This samosa has less calories as compared to deep fry. You can bake it easily. This popular North Indian recipe is made with potatoes, peas and beans. This samosa is served with green and red chutney. You can also enjoy it on many special occasions. This samosa can also be made on many special occasions. You can try this easy recipe at home.
Ingredients for Baked Samosas
- Finely chopped onion – 1
- 1 piece of grated ginger
- Curry Powder – 2 tsp
- Potatoes, cut and peeled – 250 grams
- Frozen peas – 50 grams
- Grated Garlic – 2 cloves
- Refined oil – 1 tsp
- Mustard powder – 1 tsp
- Green beans – 75 grams
Ingredients for making Samosa Dough
- Maida – 1 cup
- Salt – 1/4 tsp
- Dry Active Yeast – 1/2 tsp
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Sugar – half teaspoon
Step 1 – Knead the dough for samosas
In a bowl add all purpose flour, sugar, dry active yeast, salt and oil and knead the dough with lukewarm water. Knead such a soft dough and prepare it. Now keep it covered for few minutes.
Step – 2 Make the Filling
Fry onion, garlic and ginger in oil for 3 minutes, then add curry powder and mustard seeds. After this, add 400 ml of water to it. Add potatoes and beans to it.
Step – 3 Cook the filling and heat the oven
Cook it for 20 minutes till the vegetables become soft. Lastly add peas for 5 minutes. Heat the oven to 180C.
Step – 4 Prepare Samosa Triangles
Now knead the dough properly and make balls. After this apply dry flour and roll it thin like roti. Cut the rolled dough from the middle. Now take a portion and keep it on your hand. Apply some water on the edge of the half of the cut edge. After this, prepare triangles for samosas by folding and pasting it. Put 1 teaspoon stuffing in the open part of the triangle. After this, close the triangle with your finger. Place this samosa in a tray with the thin cone facing up. Keep all the samosas like this at a short distance.
Step – 5 Bake and serve hot
Bake the oven at 180C for 18 to 20 minutes. Bake it till it turns golden brown. This is how samosas will be ready. Then serve it with green and red chutney.
