Working from home is one of them and most of us have been doing the same for almost a year.
Constantly staying at home, eating sugar and junk foods, lack of physical exercise, etc. have proved to be effective for weight gain in many people. There are some of them who have also suffered from diabetes. Currently, diabetes patients are struggling to gain weight and are unable to reduce their blood sugar levels during the epidemic.
But we cannot accept this helplessness and let our blood sugar level go down. To lose weight and control diabetes, we have to use some easy hack at home. Therefore, today we have brought some suggestions about this issue for you.
Keep an eye on what you eat everyday
Mindful eating is very important. To determine whether protein is good or bad for you, try to break down foods into proteins, fats and carbohydrates. If you have diabetes or you are obese, then avoid eating carbohydrate rich sugar or high food.
Be physically active
People have been asked to avoid travel and work from home. There is not much physical activity in our space. Therefore, people should include exercises such as brisk walking while maintaining social distance. Stretching throughout the day to remain active and fresh. Try to exercise opt, squats, push-ups, pull-ups and light-weight bearings for desk workouts.
Plan your meal
Make a structure of what you are going to eat and try to avoid it. Try to get rid of processed, oily and junk food. Please read the nutrition label before buying snacks. Do not start your day with fried foods because it can make you feel sluggish. Keep your work area away from the kitchen or else you will continue to eat and gain weight. Avoid using electronic devices while eating and because of this do not leave your food. Maintain the same meal time every day.
Follow a balanced diet
Include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in the diet. Replace your fried foods with a salad or soup bowl to release those calories. This will keep your glucose level under control and will help you in dealing with insulin resistance. If you eat food 5 times in a day, replace at least one meal with a big bowl of salad and the other with a bowl of fruits.
Fresh fruits are full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Instead of popping vitamin supplements or pills, eat fresh fruits. Keep an early dinner option till 7.30 in the evening. Sweets should be consumed in the first part of the day. Try to stay hydrated by drinking lots of water. Take green tea, black tea or black coffee to boost your metabolism.
Practice porcelain control and bid adieu on your habit of midnight snacking. Avoid grazing between meals. Make cooked snacks a priority and avoid sugar-laden cookies. Put a brake on the food habit by patting yourself. Avoid eating emotional because you get overwhelmed.
Keep an eye on your diabetes
Avoid quitting the medicine and take the medicines prescribed by your doctor. Do not take any medicine by yourself as it can be dangerous for you.
Have a sound sleep at night
Cortisol is a stress hormone. High cortisol levels lead to increased blood sugar levels. It also promotes unhealthy eating habits. So, sleeping sound sleep at night will reduce the level of cortisol. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep during the night and it can be helpful to take a power nap during the day.
Get rid of stress
Yoga and meditation will help you stay stress free. Spend time doing what you like. Talk to your family and friends via video call or phone. Take some time to self love. Keep your inner peace. Pay attention to what your body is telling you.
