When the Constituent Assembly was formed in August 1946, it had 389 members. Later on, in the last meeting of the Constituent Assembly in November 1949, only 285 members out of 299 were present. 14 members could not attend the meeting.
Members started signing during the proceedings in the House. The first signature was done by Dr. Rajendra Prasad. The second number was signed by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and after that all the members signed one by one. But when the signatures were counted, it was found that one member was less. A lot of requests were made to that member but he remained adamant.

Hasrat Mohani was related to Unnao in UP. He was born on 1 January 1875. His real name was Syed Fazl-ul-Hasan. He was a poet, so he kept it as Hasrat Takhallus and added the name of his town Mohani to it.
