Free condoms are being distributed to youth in France. Youth up to the age of 25 have been included in this initiative. Know what is the real reason for this?
In France, the government of President Emmanuel Macron started distributing free condoms to the youth from Sunday. Earlier it was planned to include the youth of 18 to 25 years. But later when the controversy increased, minors below 18 years of age were also included in it. Through the initiative, youth can collect condoms from pharmacy, French youth group and school-college. The Macron government had announced this last month. The beginning of this initiative in France is only for men’s condoms, not for women. President Emmanuel Macron says, ‘France is not doing a good job in the matter of sex education. The current situation is quite different from the thinking. We need to train the teachers of the country in this regard. There is a need to be serious in such matters. This decision of the French government is not just to stop the population.
France has decided to distribute free condoms to the youth keeping many things in mind. The biggest reason for this is to prevent diseases that spread through sex. The report of Public Health France says, in 2021, 5000 new patients of HIV appeared. In this, 15 percent were those whose age was less than 26 years. Apart from this, there is another big issue in France, now let’s know it too.
Unwanted pregnancy is also a big issue in France for a long time. To prevent such cases and to control diseases spread by unsafe sex, the government has taken the step of distributing free-condoms. President Maco says that there is a need to educate people about these issues so that they can be stopped. This is the goal of the new initiative.
There are many countries in the world where there are different rules regarding condoms. For example, condoms are banned in the African country of Swaziland. At the same time, there are many countries where it is used almost to no avail. Like- Nigeria, Philippines, Zambia and Indonesia. Due to unsafe sex, cases of diseases like AIDS have increased in these countries.
