of Delhi Rajghat But during Sankalp Satyagraha Priyanka Gandhi targeted the Modi government. Priyanka said, the ministers of the Center insult the Gandhi family. My family has watered the democracy of this country with blood. The son of a martyr father is called a traitor. Them Mir Jafar is called. He always insulted our family. In the Parliament, my brother hugged the Prime Minister and said that I do not hate you, just that our ideologies are different and our ideology is not of hatred.
So the question is who was Mir Jafar after all? The British ruled India for about 200 years. There was such a traitor in history because of which the British enslaved the country. His name was Mir Jafar.
Who was Mir Jafar and how did he become infamous?
Mir Jafar was the person who betrayed Siraj-ud-daulah, the Nawab of Bengal. Due to the same deception, the British government was enslaved. This was the reason that Mir Jafar’s name became so infamous that people started shying away from naming their child Mir Jafar. In this way, when the example of betrayal and sacrilege was given, the name of Mir Jafar was taken. Now let’s understand his whole story.
Mirza Muhammad Sirajuddaulah is called the last Nawab. After the death of Nana, he got the power of Bengal. He was 23 years old when he assumed power. This was the period when the East India Company was trying to establish its roots in India.
Due to becoming Nawab at a young age, many of his relatives were upset. After assuming the post, Mir Jafar, who was the commander of Bengal for years, was removed and Mir Madan was given that post, Mir Jafar was upset with this. This resentment turned into revenge.
Vibhishan of the Nawab’s Sultanate
After coming to India, the British had their eyes on Bengal, but the biggest obstacle in their path was Nawaz Siraj-ud-daulah. The British were looking for a Vibhishan to make their plan successful. British army commander Rob Clive sent some spies to Bengal and asked to find a solution. Spies told, Mir Jafar can solve your problem. This is how the conspiracy started.
The British invaded Bengal after making a plan. Nawab Siraj-ud-daulah could not use the entire army to fight the British because there was danger from Ahmed Shah from the north and Marathas from the west. That’s why he reached Plassey with a part of the army.
The decision that gave the British a chance to occupy
The war started and during this the commander Mir Madan died. Nawaz sent a message to Mir Jafar asking for advice. Mir said that stopping the war at this time is the best option. The Nawab made the biggest mistake of his life by obeying Mir Jafar.
Nawab stopped the war. The army started going towards the camp. The army had gone away. Here, Mir Jafar informed Robert Clive about this. As a result, Clive attacked again and Siraj’s army was scattered. The army could not fight unitedly. As a result, Clive won the battle and the Nawab had to flee the field.
The command of power went into the hands of the British and according to the plan, Mir Jafar was made the Nawab of Bengal. Sirajuddaula could not remain free for a long time and was caught by the British. He was brought to Murshidabad and Mir Jafar’s son Mir Meeran ordered to eliminate him. Nawab Sirajuddaulah was hanged on 2 July 1757.
