Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Monday, on the day of bravery Andaman and Nicobar Name the 21 unnamed islands of the island group. The islands were named after 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees. in this naming ceremony PM Modi Connect through video conferencing. Every year on January 23, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti is celebrated as Bravery Day. On this occasion, PM Modi remembered Veer Savarkar and said, he and many other heroes who fought for the country were imprisoned in this land of Andaman, but they showed their valor for the country.

Why was Andaman and Nicobar chosen?
There are two big reasons for choosing Andaman-Nicobar on Parakram Divas. Firstly, there are 21 such islands which have not been given any name till now. PM Modi shared the second reason in his address. He said, the land of Andaman is the land where the tricolor was hoisted for the first time in the country. He said that the first independent Indian government was formed in Andaman itself. Veer Savarkar and countless other heroes like him sacrificed their lives for the country on the land of Andaman.He said, an attempt was made to suppress the contribution of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the freedom struggle, but today the whole country is remembering him. Today is the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose.

- Major Somnath Sharma: Martyred while evicting Pakistani intruders from Srinagar airfield in 1947 war
- Subedar Karam Singh: Played an important role in saving the Indian post in Richhmar Gali in 1947 war.
- Second Lieutenant Rama Raghoba Rane: Cleared landmines in 1947 war, captured Rajouri.
- Naik Jadunath Singh: Made an incomparable contribution in Nowshera on 6 February 1948.
- Havildar Major Piru Singh: Martyred in 1947 war and posthumously got Paramveer Chakra in 1952.
- Capt GS Salaria: Martyred in the Indian peace mission in Congo.
- Lieutenant Colonel Dhan Singh Thapa: Failed the Chinese attack in the 1962 war, also became a prisoner of war.
- Subedar Joginder Singh: Showed bravery during the Bumla battle of 1962, martyred as a prisoner of war.
- Major Shaitan Singh: Martyred in the 1962 war in Rezang La in a fight with the Chinese army.
- Abdul Hameed: Destroyed Pakistani Patton tanks in 1965 with a gun mounted jeep.
- Lt Col AB Tarapore: Display of amazing bravery in the battle of Phillaur in 1965.
- Lance Naik Albert Ekka: Protected the soldiers of his unit in the 1971 war.
