Former Indian Administrative Service officer BVR Subramaniam has been appointed as the new CEO of NITI Aayog. Subramaniam will replace Parameswaran Iyer, who has been appointed as the Executive Director of the World Bank.

Former Indian Administrative Service officers belonging to Andhra Pradesh BVR Subramaniam To policy commission A new CEO has been appointed. Subramaniam will replace Parameswaran Iyer, who has been appointed as the Executive Director of the World Bank. Parameswaran will hold this post for two years. According to the order issued late on Monday evening by the Ministry of Personnel, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of BVR Subramaniam.
BVR Subramaniam, a 1987 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, was made the Chairman and Managing Director (MD) of the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) on a two-year contract after his retirement on September 30 last year.
Who is BVR Subramaniam?
Subramaniam, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, is an engineering graduate and holds a degree in management from the London Business School.After joining the administrative service, he was the private secretary to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh between 2004 and 2006. Worked for the World Bank for some time and in 2012 he was appointed to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Worked here till 2015 and was made Principal Secretary in Chhattisgarh. Later, the post of Additional Chief Secretary (Home) was appointed.
There was information about the removal of Article 370 in Kashmir
Subramaniam was made the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir in 2018. Meanwhile, the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was abolished. The state was divided into two union territories. According to the news agency PTI, Subramaniam was among the few officers who were aware that Article 360 was to be removed from Jammu and Kashmir.Rest of the state status will end. After this, he was appointed as Commerce Secretary.
Subramaniam came into limelight when after the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, deaths and various rumors started spreading. He cleared the situation by holding a press conference and told that there was not a single death after the removal of Article 370.
