Who invented the design in Blade, what does it mean and why do companies around the world never change the design? Know the answers to these questions…
This is how Blade started?
Blade was introduced in 1901. The credit for its beginning goes to King Camp Gillette, the founder of the well-known company Gillette. King Camp made the first blade with the help of William Nickerson. After making it, it was said to be a big achievement. This was the reason why King Camp patented it in the same year and started its production from 1904. In the first batch of production, 165 blades were manufactured.
Hence the given design
In the era when the blade was made, it was used only for shaving. That’s why special designs were made in it. The designs were made so that it can be fitted in the shaving razor. Due to the three holes present in it, the blade shaving razor fit so well that there was no problem in shaving and there was no movement in it. After this, King Gillette also took the patent of the shaving razor that had been prepared for the blade.
Since Gillette had already patented the blade and shaving razor, later when other companies began to produce it, it was followed by the same design that Gillette had first created.Even after several decades, the same design of the blade continues. Currently one million blades are made worldwide, but the design remains the same. Over time, Gillette made many changes in its product. Introduced premium products of blades and shaving razors. Which became very popular among the people of the upper middle class, especially among the employed people.
