Ministry of Tourism (Ministry of Tourism) has prepared the National Strategy of Rural Homestay or NSPRH for this.

After getting the green signal from the authority, this proposal will be sent to the MSMEs of the central and state government. It has been written in the draft of NSPRH that the government should give 30% subsidy for this scheme. It is proposed to keep the maximum cost of building a homestay up to Rs 1 lakh, on which 30% subsidy can be given. That is, the person or company making homestay in the village will have to spend 70 thousand on his own. The rest 30 thousand will be given by the government. Even if it is spent less than this, then 30% of it will be available as subsidy. A maximum of 6 rooms can be made in the homestay. It is not necessary that the entire construction for the homestay is new. The already built building can also be converted into a homestay by increasing the facilities.
Government will give tax exemption
In order to promote tourism in the villages, it has been written in the draft paper that the government should keep the arrangement of food and lodging provided to the tourists out of commercial activity. Exemption should also be given on the cost of electricity and water so that homestay owners are encouraged. It has been advised not to levy any entertainment or commercial tax on rural homestays. Similarly, it has been suggested to make food, lodging and cultural activities tax free.
Officials say that the NSPRH has been proposed to accelerate the self-reliant India campaign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started the self-reliant India campaign to make the country self-reliant. Under this, efforts are being made to promote rural tourism. Urban tourism has been emphasized earlier, but now rural tourism is also being brought in this category.
