Those who book train tickets through IRCTC website or app, they will have to take care of the new rules. IRCTC has made it mandatory to verify mobile number and email ID before booking online tickets. Now when booking tickets online from the website or app, first you have to verify your mobile number and email id. For this, a message will come on your mobile number, which will verify your number.
IRCTC has made it clear that online ticket booking will not be possible if the mobile number and email id are not verified. A report by ‘India Today’ states that the new rule of verification has come into effect for those who have not booked online tickets after the start of COVID-19. Go to IRCTC website or app
- Open the verification window
- Enter your registered mobile number and email id here
- Verification option will appear on the right side of this page. Edit button will appear on the left side of the page
- After entering your details, you will get an OTP on your mobile phone. OTP can also be received on email id
- Enter this OTP on IRCTC website. After this your phone number and email will be verified. Now you are ready for online ticket booking.
How to Book Train Tickets
- Visit IRCTC website or portal
- Login by entering username and password
- Enter the station to be departed from (source station) and the station to reach (destination), date of journey and other details
- Now select the train and click on ‘Book Now’
- Enter other details like passenger name, age, gender, which seat is required etc.
- Click on ‘Make Payment’ option and select the mode through which payment is to be made. That is, if you want to pay by UPI, credit or debit card, then you have to tick about it. complete the transaction
- After the completion of this process, a booking confirmation message will come from IRCTC. It will be received on your mobile number and email
