There is great news for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We are saying this because the work of the country’s first ‘cable-stayed rail bridge’ on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail line is nearing completion. The Anji Bridge, about 80 km from Jammu by road, will connect Katra and Reasi. The construction of this bridge will benefit thousands of people passing through it. The bridge is a part of the national project of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project.
Let us tell you that the total length of this bridge is a little more than 725 meters. In which the 473 meter long part is connected to the cable. Also, a total of 96 cables support this bridge.

Kashmir to Kanyakumari train service will start
Recently news agency PTI has shared the video of the construction of this bridge. According to the information, where the bridge is being constructed, an earthquake parameter study was done by the Earthquake Engineering Department. Senior PRO of Indian Railways Rajesh Khare has said in a statement to PTI that “This is a very important part. After the completion of this bridge, direct train service will start between Kashmir and Kanyakumari. Its main feature is that when snow falls in the Kashmir Valley, many roads and highways have to be closed. Once this rail line is built, it will remain open throughout the year and through this rail line, the Kashmir Valley will be connected to the rest of the country.
