SpiceJet will operate flights twice a week between Shillong and Delhi, the capital of the northeastern state of Meghalaya. Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) officials said that an agreement was signed with SpiceJet on Saturday to operate these flights. Under this, SpiceJet will operate flights between Delhi and Shillong on Mondays and Fridays of the week.

Information about this agreement was given in a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office. Accordingly, SpiceJet itself had approached the Meghalaya government. This agreement is made in accordance with the terms and conditions of service of MTC. SpiceJet flights are expected to start operating on the Delhi-Shillong route from February.
Earlier, SpiceJet’s flight from Pune to Ahmedabad was to take off at eight o’clock on Wednesday night. The company said that the flight was delayed due to technical reasons. The passengers had to spend the night at the airport itself and this delay of the flight continued till 4:30 in the morning. This flight, which took off at 8 pm, took off the next morning i.e. Thursday at 4:30 am, ie after a delay of eight and a half hours from the schedule time. But the problems of the passengers did not end here. This flight returned to the airport 10 minutes after take off and the airlines had to cancel SG-1078 flight.
Regarding the return of the flight after take off, he said, I think the flight failed to reach the right height. I felt tremors twice. The flight returned to Pune airport within 7 to 10 minutes.
Regarding the incident, a SpiceJet spokesperson said that due to a technical fault, the flight returned to the airport and its landing was normal. Passengers were informed about this at 4.30 pm only, so that they could decide their time to reach the airport. Most of the passengers were given the facility to take another flight the next day, while some opted for a full refund.
