State Bank of India has changed the recruitment rules for pregnant women candidates. Under the new rules, in the case of fresh recruitment, women candidates who are pregnant for more than three months will be considered temporarily ineligible.

In fact, within four months after delivery (4 months after delivery) can join the bank. At the same time, SBI has said in its latest medical fitness guidelines for new recruits or promotions that women candidates who are less than three months pregnant will be considered ‘fit’.
In case the pregnancy exceeds three months as per the fitness standards issued by the Bank on December 31, 2021, the female candidate will be treated as provisionally ineligible. Recruitment Rules for Pregnant Female Candidates

When will the new rule be effective
The changes made by the State Bank of India in the recruitment rules for pregnant women candidates have been considered effective from the date of approval i.e. December, 2021. Whereas, the rules related to promotion will be applicable from April 1, 2022.
On the other hand, according to KS Krishna, general secretary of All India State Bank Employees Union, the union has written to the SBI management urging them to withdraw the guidelines. According to him, a woman cannot be forced to choose between childbearing and employment. Because it interferes with both their reproductive rights and their right to employment.
